I have been working as a CPA for over 30 years, serving primarily individuals and small business tax clients. I also have extensive knowledge of the local real estate market and have served as a consultant for analyzing income properties. My husband and I own several rental units and I thoroughly enjoy helping people who want to begin investing in real estate and need to understand the tax benefits of investment property. With encouragement from my twin sister, I obtained my real estate license in 2001, my broker’s license in 2003 and I opened my own real estate company in 2004. In 2014 I earned a Master of Real Estate (MRE) degree. I was in the inaugural class in the United States in this new program from Realtor University and I was the first person in the state of Idaho to obtain an MRE degree. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner. I am currently in my third year of a doctoral program at California Southern University. I am pursuing a doctorate in business administration (DBA).
I have been happily married to Tim, a retired family physician, for over 30 years. We have 3 grown children (Melanie, Michael, and Caitlin) plus 6 grandchildren.
I am an avid volunteer and spend several hours each month serving my church as the Treasurer of a multi-state region covering Idaho, Eastern Washington and Western Wyoming. I also am the President of a 501(C)(3) corporation that combats homelessness by offering affordable housing.
Over the years our family has been active in Tae Kwon Do. My husband and I are second-degree black belts. Our son is a third-degree black belt and one of our daughters holds a first-degree black belt. I also love to scuba dive. All of our kids are advanced level divers. I try to travel to warm, tropical locations as often as possible to dive. Tim and I are also learning to play golf.
